Parkston rolls in with 3 touchdown win

• Two of the top five teams in the state will be challenging Groton in high school football. One of those teams, Parkston, came to Groton Friday night where the Trojans took home a 21-0 win over the Tigers.
• "They're a good team," said Coach Shaun Wanner. "They have eight to nine players back from last year. One thing a lot of people don't know is that eight or nine of their starters are wrestlers and they won the state tournament last year. They have a good group of athletes."

one in each the second, third and fourth quarters. "We played toe to toe with them for the first two and half quarters," Wanner said. "But we do have three major areas that we need to improve on--blocking, tackling and being physical."
• One of Groton's starters, Spencer Knecht, was sidelined from the Parkston game. "We found out on Wednesday that he wasn't suppose to play because of his shoulder injury. That threw a wrinkle into our game plan so we had to tweak things a little bit." Also, four to five players were gone to the state fair and some were gone because of soccer. "But we do have a lot of depth," Wanner said. "This is probably the most kids we've had out in a long time." Groton has 49 players on the roster. Wyatt Lone had a knee injury and had it checked out Saturday morning.
• Groton had 28 rushing attempts and 14 passing attempts. "We need to balance
