• Groton, now 0-1, will play in the Hub City Bowl on Friday in a 5 p.m. game with Roncalli. "It will be another good test for us," Wanner said. "It will be our conference opener. They, too, are ranked in the top five in the state."
• .Parkston had more first downs, 14-4, more yards rushing, 257-24, and more yards penalized, 110-55. Groton had more yards passing, 52-9.
• In rushing, Groton carried the ball 28 times for 24 yards. Jackson Doeden had 11 carries for 26 yards and Kasey Kurtz had 11 carries for 21 yards. Parkston had 45 carries for 257 yards.
