Heat Wave Continues for Parts of Central U.S.

• A ridge of high pressure will bring another day of record-breaking heat across portions of the central U.S. on Friday, with afternoon high temperatures reaching 100F or higher across the central and southern Plains. Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for many locations in the Midwest. Relief will arrive by late weekend as temperatures fall behind a cold front.
