Groton Area moves
classrooms to cooler areas

• With temperatures in the 100's and the heat index climbing ever higher, the Groton School District has come up with some creative ways of making the students comfortable while in class.
• Classes were dismissed early on Monday and Tuesday, with many of the students taking advantage of the City pool, but early dismissal doesn't help the the students learn.
• Starting today, Wednesday, students and teachers will split their time between their classrooms and other air conditioned rooms. The Grade school students will be moved to other locations around town.
• "We have located three air conditioned locations that we can move students to," Groton Elementary Principal Dan Dalchow said. "Kindergarten through second grade will move over the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the third and fourth grade students will move to the Groton Community Center and the fifth grade students will remain at the elementary school in the computer lab."
