1814: A hurricane, that included a tornado, struck Washington, D.C. The hurricane extinguished fires to the Capitol and White House that were set a blazed by British Soldiers.

1814: A tornado hit Washington, DC during the burning of the Capitol and killed invading British soldiers.

1948: New Zealand's deadliest tornado killed 3 people and injured 80 at Waikato. Two hundred buildings were damaged by the F2.
