• Cleone Faye Peterson was born July 9, 1949 at Veblen, SD to Charles Henry and Doris Viola (Henning) Peterson.  As a youngster, she moved with her family to Webster and later to Pierpont, where she graduated from Pierpont High School in 1968.
• In August of 1969, she was united in marriage with LaVern

Lutz.  They remained together for the next 11 years.  During that time, they lived on a farm near Andover, and later made their home in Groton and Pierpont before moving to Webster.  While living in Webster, Cleone worked as a nursing assistant at the Bethesda Home and as a home health aide.
• In the late 1990's, Cleone married Ken Kurtz.  Over the next 13 years, they lived in Ashton and Athol, SD where Cleone continued her work as a nursing assistant and worked at the State Hospital in Redfield, as well as continuing her home health assistance.   In 2010, Cleone moved to Groton and has lived there since that time.  Failing health made it necessary for her to move to the Golden Living in Groton about a year ago.
• Cleone was confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Pierpont.  She truly had a green thumb and loved her many plants.  She also enjoyed playing cards with her neighbors.
