Casino in Rapid City robbed at knifepoint

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Rapid City police are searching for a male who robbed a casino at knifepoint.
• Authorities say the male walked into the Rushmore Casino about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from a clerk.
• The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk wasn't hurt.
• Timing uncertain for SD Medicaid computer system
• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- State officials say they do not know when work will resume on a new computerized Medicaid management system because negotiations have not been completed with the company hired to do the work.
• The state signed a $62 million contract in 2008 with Client Network Service Inc. of Maryland to develop a new computerized system for the program that pays medical expenses for poor people. The state ended the contract in 2010 because of a dispute on the timing and quality of the work, but the state and the company have since agreed to resume the project.
• State Social Services Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says the project's timing is uncertain because negotiations continue on what will happen when work resumes.
• The federal government is paying 90 percent of the new system's cost.

Old SD governor's mansion being auctioned

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- The mansion that was home to 16 South Dakota governors is up for auction near Rapid City.
• The residence sits on 17 1/2 acres in Rapid Valley and is a piece of South Dakota history.
• But after devastating business losses suffered by the home's former owners and because the house has sat on the market unsold for months, it will be auctioned to the highest bidder at 10 a.m. Thursday.
• The 18-room, 7,000-square-foot home was built in 1936. It was moved in 2003 from its spot in Pierre on the edge of Capitol Lake to make way for the new $3 million, 14,000-square-foot, 73-room Governor's Mansion built completely with donated funds.
