Groton Lions Club August Meeting

• The Groton Lions Club met for their August meeting welcoming new members Alfred Tastad and Cameron Howard.   Iva McCullough visited and submitted an application to join the club. 
• Other items of business included:
• Acknowledgement of the District Governor Harry Engberg's visit in July with appreciation expressed to Lion Larry Wheeting and his wife who hosted the event at which the 35th anniversary of the Groton Lions Club was commemorated.  Other visitors included Past District Governor Ray Schley and Zone Chairman Steve Kaiser.  The District Governor after giving his reported inducted new member Carmeron Howard and installed the club officers.
• The Fall Rummage Day scheduled for Saturday, September 7th, was discussed with deadline being Monday, September 2nd for sales to be listed.  New this year will be a listing of the sales on the grotonchamber.com website in addition to the usual fliers that are available.  Each sale will be available once the $15 entry fee is received. 
• The Club will be serving breakfast at the Andover Threshing Bee on Saturday, September 7. 
• Scholarships will be paid to the recipients in September.
• Participation in the Groton Homecoming parade on Friday, October 4 was noted.
• Future projects were tabled until the September meeting.
