• Both the mayor and the council position will be filled until next year when petitions can be taken out.
• The fall clean-up dates have been set for September 9-13.
• There was discussion as to where to put the cross walk at the elementary school It was decided to that the police chief should make that determination.
• Several complaints were recorded on the missing flowers and other items at the cemetery.
• The September 2 council meeting will be held September 3 due to Labor Day.
• The Ford Ranger pickup was declared surplus with a $200 value put on it.
• Police Chief Stacy Mayou was authorized to attend a NewTec Training course in Aberdeen. Mayou is a fire arms instructor and the hours will be go towards his recertification.
• It was reported that the airport has been reopened. The city is still awaiting for correspondence from the state on the grain bins in the area.
• The $5.5 million budget was the big thing the council went over last night. Some of the highlights are as follows:
• The upcoming west-side street project is planned as follows: Dig up 15 blocks in 2014 (Second and Third Avenues and cross streets), 15 more blocks in 2015 and then do the whole area in asphalt in 2016. That reduced the street budget from $1 million to $700,000.
• It was decided to lease a skidsteer instead of buying one. That reduced that
