Allegiant expands flight options in the Dakotas

• BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Allegiant Air has announced new flights in three cities in the Dakotas, starting in November.
• Las Vegas-based Allegiant will launch twice-weekly nonstop jet service between Tampa Bay, Fla., and the two largest cities in the Dakotas -- Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D. It also will offer twice-weekly nonstop flights between Bismarck, N.D., and Orlando, Fla.
• The flights to Tampa Bay will go through the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport.

SD task force to meet on Medicaid expansion study

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A state task force studying the possibility of expanding South Dakota's Medicaid program is wrapping up its work.
• The task force will not recommend whether Medicaid should be expanded, but instead will identify the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. The panel meets Tuesday to finish its report. Gov. Dennis Daugaard and the Legislature will have the final say on expanding Medicaid.
• States have the option of expanding Medicaid to cover more people considered too poor to get private insurance. The governor and the Legislature decided earlier this year to delay a decision on expanding the state-federal program that provides medical care for low-income people.
• South Dakota's Medicaid program now covers about 116,000 children, adults and disabled people. Expanded eligibility would add an estimated 48,000 people, mostly adults without children.

SDSU adds Deadwood, Pipestone, Minn., stations

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota State University games are jumping onto a couple more stations.
• The Brookings school says two new affiliates have joined Jackrabbit Sports Network -- KDSJ-AM in Deadwood and KJOE-FM in Pipestone, Minn. Both will carry all Jackrabbit football games, select basketball broadcasts, weekly coaches' shows and the Jackrabbit Daily Sports Update.
