Masked man throws firework at gas station clerk

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Police in Sioux Falls say a masked man lit a modified firework and threw it at a gas station clerk before running off.
• The employee of the BP on West Russell Street told officers that the man, who was wearing a black ski mask, lit the device about 10:30 p.m. Saturday threw it at her and then ran off.
• The incident remains under investigation.
• No injuries were reported.

SD task force to meet on Medicaid expansion study

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A state task force studying the possibility of expanding South Dakota's Medicaid program will hold its final meeting this week.
• The task force will not recommend whether Medicaid should be expanded, but instead will identify the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. The panel meets Tuesday in Pierre to put together its report to Gov. Dennis Daugaard and the Legislature.
• States have the option of expanding Medicaid to cover people considered too poor to get private insurance. The Legislature earlier this year agreed with the governor's recommendation to delay a decision on expanding Medicaid, the state-federal program that provides medical care for low-income people.
• South Dakota's Medicaid program now covers about 116,000 children, adults and disabled people. Expanded eligibility would add an estimated 48,000 people, mostly adults without children.

Rock bands' plane makes emergency landing in Ill.

• MOLINE, Ill. (AP) -- A private jet carrying rock bands Ratt and Dokken had to make an emergency landing in northwestern Illinois after smoke was detected in the cabin Saturday afternoon.
• Chuck Brennan, a friend of the bands who chartered the flight, told The Associated Press that the plane took off from the Moline airport but pilots had to turn it around when smoke appeared in the front of the plane at about 7,000 feet.
• Brennan said the pilots donned oxygen masks and landed the Challenger 601
