Fall-Like Air Remains in the Northeast; Heavy Rain Developing in the Southeast

• Cool, fall-like air remains across much of the northeastern U.S., with high temperatures only reaching the 70s for many locations, and chilly nighttime lows. Meanwhile, the leading edge of this cool air will be a focus for widespread showers and thunderstorms across the Southeast.
