Taste of Autumn from Midwest to Northeast; Heavy Rain for Southeast

Cool, fall-like air has overtaken much of the eastern U.S., with high temperatures only reaching the 70s for many locations, and chilly nighttime lows. Meanwhile, the leading edge of this cool air will be a focus for widespread showers and thunderstorms across the Southeast. As tropical moisture moves northward from the Gulf of Mexico by late week, the Southeast could potentially see heavy rain.
