•  Another big part of the game was in the fifth when Parkston's lead off hitter that inning was on second with no outs.  Shortstop Lucas Sternhagen nabbed a line drive and threw to a heads up Trevor Pray who covered second to complete the double play. too. The players held their composure and played out the game to get the win.
•  Getting the hits for Groton were Shabazz with two and Dalchow, Knecht and Voss with one each. Voss had two RBIs while Dalchow and Shabazz each had one. Knecht and Herman each had a stolen base and Sternhagen had a hit by pitch. Eleven Groton batters struck out.
•  Knecht was the winning pitcher with six strike-outs, four hits, five walks, one earned run and one hit by pitch. Groton had two errors.
•  The consolation round will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Volga taking on Dell Rapids followed by Parkston taking on Humboldt at 1 p.m. The 3:30 p.m. game
