Tornado warning issued for 2 South Dakota counties

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for northeastern Pennington and southeastern Meade counties in South Dakota.
• The weather service reported a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado approaching Creighton at 3 p.m. Mountain time. The storm was moving southeast at 30 mph.
• Creighton is 20 miles north of Wall.

SD sheriff voted to spearhead national association

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota man is the newly elected president of the National Sheriffs' Association.
• Hughes County Sheriff Mike Leidholt is 38-year law enforcement veteran. He had previously served on the national association's executive committee.
• South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says the selection of Leidholt

should give the state "a strong voice" at the national level.
• Leidholt was honored for his accomplishments Tuesday at a reception in Pierre.

SD resident accused of voting twice pleads guilty

• MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota man accused of voting twice in a school board election has pleaded guilty.
• Craig Guymon, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony voter fraud charge. It carries a maximum punishment of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
• The Daily Republic newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/15tJDOK) that the 54-year-old Guymon told a judge he voted in the polls in the morning of June 4 and voted at the auditor's office by absentee ballot that afternoon.
• Guymon is known in town for being a vocal critic of school officials.
• A sentencing date has not been set.

Adams County residents sound off on wind farm idea

• HETTINGER, N.D. (AP) -- Residents are debating whether to allow a proposed $350 million wind farm in Adams County, in far southwestern North Dakota.
