Minuteman Missile site to get new visitor center

• INTERIOR, S.D. (AP) -- The Minuteman Missile National Historic Site is building a new visitor center.
• The new 7,300-square-foot center will house displays, a theater, retail space and the park's administrative offices.
• Groundbreaking on the new center is scheduled to occur within the next month, and the grand opening is set for November 2014.
• The Minuteman Missile National Historic Site was established in 1999 to commemorate the history and significance of the Cold War. The site preserves the last remained Minuteman II missile system in the country.

2 Wild Card 2 tickets in Sioux Falls worth $6K

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Two Wild Card 2 tickets sold in Sioux Falls are worth $6,000 each in the latest drawing.
• South Dakota Lottery officials say the tickets matched all five white ball numbers but missed the Wild Card to win the game's second prize in the Wednesday drawing. The odds of winning second prize are about 1 in 127,000.
• Wild Card 2 is played in the Dakotas, Montana and Idaho. The jackpot sits at $460,000 for the next drawing, on Saturday.

Crews work to suppress Black Hills wildfire

• CUSTER, S.D. (AP) -- Firefighters are working to fully suppress the Grizzly Fire in the Black Hills of western South Dakota.
• The 1.5-acre fire was reported Wednesday in steep, rugged terrain in the Black Elk Wilderness.
• Hell Canyon District Ranger Scott Haas says the top priority is to provide for the safety of firefighters and the public. Thirty-five firefighters from the Black Hills National Forest and the South Dakota Wildland Fire Suppression Division are working on the fire.
• Hass says firefighters are working to improve access routes and continue suppression activities. He says crews will remain on the scene for several days to extinguish and remove burning material near control lines and to mop up hot spots.
