• I'm trying to decide if I should buy a bug zapper for my bedroom.  I haven't researched the possibilities but as far as I can see, it would attract the mosquitoes that seem to think they're welcome there and would also be a somewhat interesting night light.  It wouldn't get overworked as there are usually only two or three checkins after mine but it's enough to send me into a bug killing panic.  First they sit quietly on the wall or ceiling waiting for me to turn out the lights.  Step two is initiated when the lights go out.  They start by doing some fly bys several inches from my face to get me lined up in their radar.  They know I'm not happy they're there but they continue they're mission regardless. Step three is the most dangerous to their overall health as they attempt a landing.  Sometimes it doesn't go well.  Sometimes it does and when it does, step four is delayed as the lights come on again and they head back to the wall and remain still hoping that I am not frustrated enough to actually get out of bed and swat them.
• Jim and Leah Luitjens would like to thank all those responsible for the nice "4th of July" celebration held in Claremont on June 29th.  The parade was nice, the supper delicious and the fireworks, awesome! Good job Clarmontonians!
• On July 4th Jim and Leah Luitjens, Tracey Luitjens and Ben Ziegler left on a four day excursion along the north shores of Lake Superior.  The foursome arrived in Duluth in time for lunch where they ate at a restaurant recommended on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  The afternoon was spent watching ships and sailboats coming in and out of the harbor and touring the Maritime Museum.  That evening they watched the fireworks display over the harbor.  On the 5th they traveled along the lake shore to Two Harbors and Tofte.  They ate a picnic lunch of locally smoked fish on the
