New judge named to Fourth Circuit in S. Dakota

• DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) -- A new judge has been appointed to the Fourth Judicial Circuit in South Dakota.
• The South Dakota Supreme Court has approved the appointment of Eric Strawn as a part-time magistrate judge for the Fourth Circuit.
• The Fourth Circuit covers the counties of Butte, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Perkins and Ziebach. The position will be shared with the Seventh Judicial Circuit.
• Strawn will be sworn in on Aug. 27. He is a graduate of Black Hills State University and the University of South Dakota. He has served as a law clerk for the Fourth Judicial Circuit and has been in private practice in Spearfish.
