Garden Club members visit Ellendale Opera House

The Groton Garden Club members visited the historic Opera House Lobby in Ellendale for their June meeting. A Smithosonian exhibit that explains our country's diverse regional cooking and eating traditions was on display at this time. The group included Grace

Albrecht, Janice Fliehs, Linda Anderson, Linda Gengerke, Deloris Knoll, Hazel McKittrick, Pat Larson, Suzy Oliver, Beverly Sombke, Elda Stange and Eunice McCollister. All enjoyed evening dinner at an Ellendale restaurant.

Teeners beat Britton twice

• Groton's Teener team got back on the winning track last night with a pair of wins over the visiting team of Britton. This was the final baseball game of the season at the Groton Baseball Complex.
• Groton defeated Britton in the first game, 15-0. Lucas Sternhagen had a double and two singles, Alec Voss had two singles, Bennett Shabazz and Jackson Doeden each had a double and Adam Herman, Spencer Knecht and Nick Dalchow each had a single.
• Knecht was the winning pitcher, throwing 62 pitches for two hits, one walk and 10 strike-outs in four innings. Dalchow was the catcher.
• Groton won the second game, 13-3, in six innings. Adam Herman had two doubles and a single, Nick Dalchow had a double and a single, Chance Strom and Rayce Harder each had two hits and Lucas Sternhagen, Alec Voss and Isaiah Cutler each had a hit.
• Voss was the winning pitcher, throwing 103 pitches for three walks, six hits and seven strike-outs. Dalchow was the catcher.
