Legions wins last three, regions begins today

• Groton Post #39 won the last three games of the regular season and will be playing in the regions which begin today in Groton.
• Groton defeated Clark in the first of the double header, 9-3. Groton scored nine runs on 14 hits and had one error. Clark scored three runs on seven hits and had two errors.
• Matt Thorson pitched for six innings, throwing 85 pitches for five strike-outs, one walk and six hits. Dane Campbell pitched the last inning, throwing 15 pitches for two strike-outs and one hit. Kasey Kurtz was the catcher.
• Dalton Locke had four hits with a triple, Brandon Stanley and Mason Madsen each had three hits, Drew Planteen started off the game with a home run, and Jamie Jorgensen and Michael Erickson each had a double.
• Those that were walked were Matt Thorson three times and Kasey Kurtz and Dylan Krueger each once.
• Groton won the second game, 18-1, in three innings. Groton scored 18 runs on 19 hits and had no errors. Clark scored one run on one hit and had two errors.
• Dylan Krueger was the pitcher with one strike-out, two walks and one hit. Kasey Kurtz was the catcher
• Dalton Locke was four for four at bat with a double, Jamie Jorgensen and Matt Thorson each had a double and two singles, Dane Campbell had a home run and a single, Mason Madsen had three singles, Jeric Albrecht had a double and Drew Planteen had a single as he was hit by the pitch three times.
• Campbell was the only player to get walked.
• Groton then defeated Warner-Ipswich-Northville, 15-1, in five innings. Groton scored 15 runs on 15 hits and had three errors. WIN had one run on two hits and had seven errors.
• Brandon Stanley was four for four at bat with a double and a triple, Mason Madsen had a double and two singles, Drew Planteen had a triple, Jamie Jorgensen and Dylan Krueger each had two hits, Kasey Kurtz had a double and Adam Herman and Dane Campbell each had a single.
• Jamie Jorgensen pitched for three innings, throwing 45 pitches for six strike-outs, two hits and one walk. Parker Rossow pitched the last two innings with 19 pitches and two hit by pitch.
• The regional tournament begins today in Groton with Groton taking on WIN at 4 p.m. and the Redfield-Clark game to follow at 7 p.m.
