The region will be under a very warm and humid air mass today. Much of central and eastern South Dakota as well as west central Minnesota will experience dangerously high heat indices. A heat advisory has been posted for those locations. A cold front will gradually move across the region later this afternoon and overnight. Thunderstorms may develop along this front.
