• A jury convicted 57-year-old Vind Strozier, of Sioux Falls, of second-degree murder and aggravated assault for the 2011 stabbing death of 22-year-old Rodney Iron Hawk and the wounding of another man.
• Strozier argued his statements to police should not be used as evidence because he did not voluntarily give up his right to remain silent. He also contended he should have been acquitted because he stabbed the two men in self-defense.
• The Supreme Court says a video of the police interrogation indicates Strozier voluntarily talked with officers. The high court also says the jury heard sufficient evidence to reject Strozier's claim of self-defense.

Kevin Costner selling land in South Dakota

• DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) -- Hollywood actor Kevin Costner is asking $14 million for 1,000 acres of land he owns in western South Dakota's Black Hills.
• The property includes the site of the ill-fated Dunbar resort, a $100 million project that would have included a golf course and a steam-powered passenger train. It never materialized.
• The listing does not include Costner's Midnight Star, the tallest building on Deadwood's Main Street, or the $6 million Tatanka visitor attraction he owns on the gambling town's north edge.
• Costner filmed much of his Academy Award-wining movie "Dances with Wolves" in South Dakota. Real estate agent Mike Percevich says Costner has a strong sense of loyalty to the area, and his decision to sell was a difficult one.
