Spotlight on Groton's Life Guards

• Erica Schuster is a freshman at college and this is her third year as a life guard at the Groton swimming pool. She also has her American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate which means she can teach swimming lessons.
• Erica said her favorite part of life guarding is enjoying being around the kids and being outside. "The biggest challenge," she said, "is trying to keep it a safe and fun environment at the same time."
• In the summer, she likes working out, going to the lake, hanging out with family and friends and being involved in summer activities. During the school year, she was involved in volleyball, track, show choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Band and National Honor Society.
