158 people because US citizens at Mount Rushmore

• MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) -- One-hundred-fifty-eight people from 58 countries are officially U.S. citizens after taking the oath at Mount Rushmore National Memorial in western South Dakota.
• The annual naturalization ceremony on Thursday was overseen by Jeffrey Viken, the chief federal district judge in South Dakota.
• Irina Lewis is one of the new citizens. The woman originally from Russia tells KEVN-TV that the U.S. naturalization process was lengthy but also a wonderful journey.

NBA teams draft players with South Dakota ties

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Two basketball players with South Dakota ties are now members of NBA teams.
• South Dakota State University standout guard Nate Wolters ended up with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was drafted by the Washington Wizards with the 38th overall pick in Thursday night's draft, then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and again to the Bucks.
• Wolters says in a statement that to play in the NBA is a dream he's worked toward his entire life. He watched the draft from his family's home in St. Cloud, Minn.
• Yankton native Colton Iverson ended up with Boston after the Celtics traded with Indiana for the 53rd overall pick. Iverson is a center who played for Colorado State.
• He tells the Daily Press & Dakotan newspaper that getting drafted was "the greatest feeling ever."

Madison City Commission repeals street fee

• MADISON, S.D. (AP) -- The Madison City Commission has repealed a measure that would have imposed a special fee on most property owners to finance street maintenance and repairs.
• The Madison Daily Leader reports (http://bit.ly/17FXGoo ) that Mayor Roy Lindsay says commissioners will spend the next two weeks reviewing the maintenance fee and other ways that could be used to fund expanded street maintenance and repair work.
