• Business manager Mike Weber announced that had been able to lock in the price for Natural Gas for the next year at 51 cents, that's up slightly from last year's price of 47 cents. Weber also opened the quotes from three supplies of gas and diesel, Duane's Sinclair, Ken's Food Fair and Full Circle Ag.  Full Circle Ag deals in bulk gas and offered to set up tanks at the bus barn in their quotes. Ken's quote was for 15 cents less that the listed price, which resulting in a phone call needing to be made to get the day's prices. Duane's offered the best deal across the board on both gas and diesel and was awarded the contract.
• The Groton Independent slightly edged out The Dakota Press to remain the official school newspaper. Land O'Lakes will remain the supplier of milk to the district and Sara Lee will remain as the bakery.
• Weber also went over the need to transfer some money from the contingency fund to cover four different accounts of year-ending deficits. This is a normal practice that happens every year.
• The board approved the move to a print management service with MARCO instead of maintaining contracts on the two printers and purchasing toner and other supplies for the number of printers in the two buildings. The service will now provide the supplies as part of the service agreement and the reps are local if repair work is needed.
• Dana Darjatz was hired as the new head wrestling coach for the 2013-2014 school year with his salary to be published in July.
