• "We need to look at the collections option," Rod Kappas said. "If we let people start to slide on their bills, others begin to let their bills slide as well."
• The reason the board has not gone the court route, is that most people bill their bills when the bill notice is received. However, there are a few that have outright stated that they will not pay the bill. This adds up to quite a bit of money that could be used to purchase much needed equipment, supplies and gear for the fireman on the next fire that comes along.
• Further action was tabled on the bills until next month when the district's attorney, Kari Bartling, will be present at the meeting.
• Groton is one step closer to getting the new ambulance for the Rescue Squad. The new truck should be here by the end of the month. The district is purchasing the truck from the Aberdeen Fire Department, who is upgrading to a newer vehicle. Once the truck arrives and is set up to answer calls, the old truck will be advertised for sale. The board is still looking for someone who do the lettering on the trucks, as the local business that used to do the work is no longer in business.
• Dale Ringgenberg also reported that two of the Groton firemen have passed their EMT tests. They were part of the first class in the state to take the course online. Congratulations were extended to Darrin Erdman and Tim Yeaton.
• Construction on the new concrete apron in the front of the Groton Fire Hall should begin soon. The board looked at an option of using the removed dirt from the project around the other three sides of the building. As the accepted proposal stated that the dirt should be hauled away, it was decided to keep to the agreement and look for other dirt if the board decided to build up around the building.
• The monthly meeting was held at the Bath Station so the board members could look at the equipment and building. There is some wiring and plumbing issues that
