Fire board sizzling about unpaid bills

• Unpaid fire call bills may soon be making their way into small claims courts. This was the decision of the Groton Fire Board during Monday's meeting at the Bath Fire hall. The board has several fire call bills that haven't been paid and are a year old.
• "If we can collect on two of the larger bills," Bob Osterman, President of the Groton Fire Board said. "We can afford to buy a much needed grass rig without dipping into our budget."

that states if bills are not paid within six months, they can be turned over to collections. So far the board has tried not to go that route, trying other methods first, but to no avail.
