• The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is not planning any special testing of wildlife in response to the infected cow. However, officials will be looking at deer samples already collected through an existing program to monitor for diseases such as TB and chronic wasting, said Jeb Williams, the agency's deputy wildlife chief.

Inmate who left SD prison captured in Florida

• YANKTON, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities say a 51-year-old inmate who left a minimum-security prison in South Dakota earlier this month has been captured in Florida.
• The U.S. Marshals Service says Richard Beckwith was picked up Friday at a home in Jacksonville, Fla.
• Beckwith was being sought on a warrant from Yankton County charging him with escape. He had been serving a 10-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance out of Minnehaha County when he walked away from the facility in Yankton.
• Authorities say Beckwith's extensive criminal history involved numerous theft and burglary charges, assaults and a previous conviction for escape.

Rapid City man claims $40K Mega Millions prize

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A Rapid City man has claimed a $40,000 Mega Millions prize from the South Dakota lottery.
• Lottery officials say Frank Cirillo matched four of five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball in Tuesday's drawing to win the game's $10,000 third prize. Cirillo also purchased a $1 option that quadrupled the amount.
• The odds of winning $40,000 playing Mega Millions are one in about 689,000.
• Mega Millions is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot was at $29 million for the Friday drawing.
• Cirillo purchased his winning ticket at Don's Valley Market, which gets a $4,000 bonus.
