Police investing Sioux Falls store robbery

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls Police say two men took several bottles of alcohol and packs of cigarettes during a convenience store robbery Saturday morning.
• Police say the suspects entered the Shop N Cart store at about 5 a.m. Police say the duo indicated that they had a weapon but none was seen.
• No injuries were reported.

SD, MN troopers make 188 arrests in I-90 operation

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Officials say Highway Patrol troopers from South Dakota and Minnesota have made 188 arrests and issued 522 warnings during a joint enforcement operation on a stretch of Interstate 90.
• The daylong enforcement effort took place Thursday on I-90 between Chamberlain, S.D., and Fairmont, Minn.
• South Dakota Patrol Capt. Kevin Joffer says this is the second year troopers from the two states have teamed up to raise public awareness about highway safety.
• Arrests made by troopers included one for drunken driving, 90 for speeding, 22 for seatbelt violations, 11 for drugs, two for stop sign violations and 26 for violations involving drivers licenses, insurance or vehicle registration.

Governor, lieutenant attending training exercises

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Gov. Dennis Daugaard and Lt. Gov. Matt Michels are attending training exercises for 55 military units from several states and nations in the Black Hills.
• The 29th annual Golden Coyote training exercise put on by the South Dakota National Guard will provide military units from the Army, Navy and Air Force with training necessary to support overseas operations and homeland defense.
• Some of the training exercises include urban combat operations, land navigation, first aid and casualty evacuation.
• Daugaard and Michels are scheduled to visit from 8 a.m. to noon MDT on Saturday.
• The training exercises will occur throughout the Black Hills, in both urban and rural wilderness areas.
