Where: SD Highway 10, mile marker 304, 20 miles north of Groton, SD
Driver 1: Trevor Jo Wampler, 17, Hecla, SD, fatal
Vehicle 1: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
Driver 2: Harold Herman Gerdes, 63, Hecla, SD, minor injuries
Vehicle 2: 1992 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer
•  GROTON, S.D. - A Hecla, S.D., teen-ager died in a two-vehicle crash on S.D. Highway 10 about 20 miles north of Groton on Wednesday, June 12.
 • Trevor Jo Wampler, 17, was driving east in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix when the vehicle drifted into the westbound lane. A westbound 1992 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer driven by Harold Herman Gerdes, 63, of Hecla was unable to avoid the Pontiac. The vehicles collided head-on.
 • Wampler died at the scene. Gerdes suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
 • No further information is immediately available.
 • The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Brown County Sheriff's Office, Hecla Fire Department and Groton Fire Department assisted

Rapid City couple claims $2M Powerball prize

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A Rapid City couple has claimed a $2 million Powerball prize.
• Barb and Jim Powers say they're still in shock about winning the money in the June 5 drawing. The odds of winning $2 million playing Powerball are one in about 5.2 million.
• The couple plans to use the money to pay bills.
• Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot sits at $70 million.
