The Life of Mildred Erdmann

• Mildred Florence Henderson was born November 21, 1920 to Harvey and Pauline (Gibbs) Henderson in Dupree, SD.   She was called to her eternal rest on June 10, 2013 at Heritage Oaks West Nursing Home in Corsicana, TX.
• The family moved to Groton when she was just a child.  She grew up in Groton and attended and graduated Groton Public School.
• She was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church where she remained a member her entire life.  She served on the Board of Deacons for several years.
• Mildred and Marvin Erdmann were married November 11, 1939 in Groton.  4 children were born to this union, Paula, Russell, Holly and Marsha.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,  2 daughters, Paula Breitkreutz and Holly Tolbert; 1 son, Russell Erdmann.  She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Ivan Henderson & Bud Henderson and 1 sister, Alvaretta Face.
• She worked as a nurse's aide at St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen, SD for 12 years.  She also worked at Miller's V Store and meat market, Juel Egg Company and at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Groton.  Her most important job was raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow to become wonderful adults.
• She is survived by daughter, Marsha McAlister, Corsicana, TX; Granddaughters Tami (Steve) Ward, Omaha, NE & Kalli Saland, Des Moines, IA; Grandson Jeffrey (Stephanie) Boyte, Irving, TX.; Great Granddaughters Dr. Shaina (John) Rogers, Hawaii;  Samantha Saland, Tallahassee, FL; Jenna (Matt) King, Miami, FL; Carly Ward, Omaha, NE; Great Grandson, Jack Ward, Omaha, NE; Great-Great Grandson Tyler King, Miami, FL.; Special friend and card playing buddy, Diana Reynolds, Richland, TX.
• Funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Groton, SD Monday, June 17 at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be in Groton Union Cemetery.
•  Pall Bearers include: Jeffrey Boyte, Mike Larsen, Austin Schuelke, Bill Schuelke, Steve Ward and Bob Wagner.  Honorary pall bearers: Kenneth Coppock, Alan Coker, Jim Hodge, Lowell Hudson, Larry McAlister, Don Parish, and Jack Schmidt.
