• New hires for the 2013-2014 school year were Darcy Lesher as elementary para-professional at 6.75 hours/day at $10.50 per hour. Kendra Kettner was hired as the MS/HS special needs para-professional for 7 hours/day at $10.50/hour, and Desiree Craig was approved as an elementary para-professional for 6.75 hours/day at $10.00 per hour. Ashley Seeklander was hired as the new K-8 counselor, and Shelby Hendrickson will be a new elementary teacher, both their salaries with be published in July.
• Resignations were accepted from Carol Knecht as .a part time elementary teacher, and from Patricia Schmit, as the freshman/sophomore English teacher and school play director, the school superintendent was also authorized to advertise these positions.
• Business manager Mike Weber was given authorization to publish the 2013-2014 Groton School District budget and set a public hearing date for 8pm on July 8, 2013. This will be the organizational school board meeting for the upcoming year with new members taking their places.
• Weber was also given approval to request energy and newspaper specifications and quotes for the 2013-2013 school year with a due date of June 24, 2013.
• New school Superintendent Joe Schwan, went over the proposed changes to both the 2013-2014 elementary and high school student/parent handbooks. There was minimal changes to the elementary handbook, mainly staffing and time changes. The high school handbook reflected more changes and Schwan also
