Putney Putovers 4-H Club May Meeting

• The Putney Putovers 4-H Club met May 20, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Groton Community Center. President Alexis Simon called the meeting to order. The United States Flag pledge was led by Taryn Taylor. The State Flag pledge was led by Josie LaMee and the 4-H Flag pledge was let by Michaela Cutler.
• The May roll call topic was "one Value of Exercise." The secretary's report was corrected to read that the club donates $100 to the 4-H Endowment and $60 to the Sweet Dreams project. Abby Gibbs moved to approve the corrected report and Alexis Hanten seconded the approval and the motion passed. Michaela Cutler moved to approve the treasurer's report and Ashley Gibbs seconded the motion. The motion passed.
• Joellen Gonsoir reported that for community service she helped with the SPURS spring fundraiser at the Dakota Event Center.
• Old business included thanking those that helped with the BAGS community service project.
• New business began with the reading of the May Newshound. Important events to note from the May Newshound include the following: May 22nd judging school, May 24th DNA samples due, May 24th final enrollment, June 1st livestock deadlines, June 5th fashion review workshop, June 7th special food registration, June 19th special food contest, June 24th judging school, July 1 fashion review registration, July 11th public presentation day, July 17th fashion review, July 26th state livestock judging contest, August 12th non-livestock judging day at the fair.
• Next meeting the club will decide about a donation to the Groton Community Center. June 1st the club will be serving lunch at the Gary and Linda Thurston auction as a fund raiser. The next meeting will be held June 10th at 6:00 PM at the Groton Community Center. Hostesses will be Ashley and Abby Gibbs. Community Service will be the Simons.
• Roll call topic will be "how to protect your skin."
• Josie LaMee moved to adjourn the meeting. Alexis Hanten seconded the motion and the motion passed.
• Hailey Monson presented a demonstration titled, "Bird's Biscuits". Caleb Hanten presented a demonstration titled, "How to Build A Wooden Car." Carly Wheeting presented a talk titled "How to Make a Planter."
