Legion drops pair to Jamestown

• Groton's American Legion baseball team lost a pair of games by one run to Jamestown.
• In the first game, Jamestown won, 4-3, by scoring the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jamie Jorgensen had an RBI single and a two RBI home run, Brandon Stanley had a double and two singles and Matt Thorson and Michael Erickson each had one hit. Jorgensen was the pitcher and Thorson the catcher.
• Jamestown won the second game, 2-1. Parker Rossow, Michael Erickson and Kasey Kurtz each had a hit. Dane Campbell was the pitcher and Kurtz the catcher.

Horse injures Groton woman

Groton Police Chief Stacy Mayou reported to the Aberdeen American News that a 21-year-old Groton woman was injured at the Groton Vet Clinic yesterday. A horse kicked her in the head and then stepped on her, according to Mayou. She was taken to Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center. She was conscious and breathing when police and paramedics arrived, according to Mayou. The accident happened at 12:45 p.m.
