mercial and a special exception is required to live in a commercial zone. City Attorney Drew Johnson said if there were existing apartments upstairs, then they could have apartments downstairs as the exception is applied to the building, not a level on a building.
• The Jim Stearns trailer house at Washington Street and Third Avenue West is back in the news. Over the years, the trailer house has been condemned, but each time the necessary repairs were made. Area residents have asked that something be done about it because it is a haven for cats and other animals. City Attorney Drew Johnson said the issue can be resolved under state law and that he will find the specific codes and report back to the council.
• The police department will be directed to keep their eyes open for lots that may need to be mowed or cleaned up. Olson said the public works department does not have the time to drive around town looking at lots. The police are patrolling around town and it would be natural for them to file a report and give it to the council to review.
• The city will put a request into the county for $1,500 for the library. In the past the city has received $750.
• There will be no Incident Command System classes for the city council. After discussion, it was agreed that the Brown County Emergency Manager would be making the calls any way and that any decision made by the city could result in a liability
