San Francisco downs South Dakota St 4-3 in 13

• EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Bob Cruikshank's RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the 13th inning pushed San Francisco to a 4-3 win against South Dakota State on Saturday in an elimination game at the Eugene regional.
• San Francisco (35-23) advanced to play against the loser of the night game between host Oregon and Rice.
• South Dakota State (39-21), the regional's fourth seed, tied it at 2 with a run in the eighth on Scott Splett's RBI single.
• San Francisco, the third seed, took the lead back at 3-2 in the top of the 10th on Bradley Zimmer's RBI single. But the Dons couldn't hold the lead and the Jackrabbits scored a run in the bottom of the inning thanks to a throwing error on a potential double-play situation.
• San Francisco was playing its second extra-inning game in the regional. The Dons lost 3-2 to Rice in 11 innings in Friday's opener.

Walk, picnic to honor man who drowned

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A memorial walk and picnic are being held this coming weekend at Falls Park in Sioux Falls to honor a man who drowned while trying to save a young boy.
• The Native American Council of Tribes is hosting the walk and picnic on Saturday for 28-year-old Lyle Eagle Tail.
• Eagle Tail drowned in March after jumping into the Big Sioux River at Falls Park after 6-year-old Garrett Martin Wallace fell into the frothing water or became obscured by the gathering foam. The boy later emerged from the water and was not injured.
• The walk and picnic will start at 10 a.m.
• People can donate items for the picnic by calling Valerie Weddell at 605-214-9085.
