The Groton Garden Club met at the Golden  Living Center on May 20, 2013, at 5:30p.m. Supper was served by Deloris Knoll, Hazel McKittrick and Pat Larson , hostesses. Roll call was answered by 10 members with "a childhood summer activity. Janice Fliehs reported on the Smokey Bear Woodsy Owl poster winners. Madeline Fliehs  won 1st on the state level. Arbor Day has been cancelled because it is so late. The monetary gift from the Paul Wagner family will begin given to the city to purchase trees for the park. "Yard of the Week" will begin the first week of June. National Garden will be celebrated from June 2-8, from 11:00-3:00 at THOP in Aberdeen. State convention will be June 22, in Sioux Falls. The group will have their June meeting in Ellendale, N.D. at the Opera House on either June 5 or 12 at 6:00 p.m. Following the meeting Bev Sombke gave the program " Tomatoes."

The ABC Birthday Club met at the May Breakfast and then to Dairy Queen with Darlene Fisher, as hostess. Prizes were awarded to Grace Albrecht and Audrey Padfield. Arlowyn Spencer and Mary Jo Ball received honors . On June 4, ABC Club will meet at the home of Marion Raines at 1 o' clock with Marion as hostess.
