I called technical support on Monday about our lack of internet service. They concluded that it was their modem that was not working, but no one would be able to fix it until Tuesday since Monday was a holiday.
Trying to get stuff done without internet made it a challenge. The laptop was connected via the hotspot on my cell phone, but the desktop had no way of getting internet. Without a network, the two computers could not talk to each other. I was trying to upload pic

tures to Shutterfly and trying to get pictures from the desktop to the laptop where I'm still putting the daily together. I ended up using a flash drive to transfer pictures to the laptop. A bit cumbersome, but it got the job done.
I managed to get the yard mowed Monday and did some trimming. I think the pollen in the air is making me hack and cough and sneeze and wheeze. But, the work has to get done, no matter how I feel. Since the internet was down since the power outage, I really didn't know how much rain we received while we were gone. It finally dawned on me that I needed to dump the rain gauge. We had 1.55 inches of rain. I see a lot of people having their sump pumps discharging outside. I have been surprised that our sump hole still has about a foot before it's full. I have not started the sump pump yet. Of course, that could change in a flash.
