4 missing boaters found safe on Lake Superior

• SILVER BAY, Minn. (AP) -- Four people who were reported missing after a weekend boating trip on Lake Superior have been found safe.
• The U.S. Coast Guard says the group left Silver Bay on Sunday afternoon heading for the North Shore. The trip was only supposed to take a few hours, so when they hadn't shown up by Monday morning someone reported their vessel overdue.
• Rescue squads from Lake and St. Louis counties helped the Coast Guard search the area between Grand Marais and Duluth. The boat was found in the Apostle Islands on Monday morning.
• Authorities say at least some of the boaters are from South Dakota, and the passengers included two boys, ages 12 and 11. Few other details have been released.

SD State captures Summit League baseball title

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota State baseball team is headed to its first NCAA Division I regional tournament after capturing the Summit League title.
• The top-seeded Jackrabbits (35-22) topped No. 3 seed North Dakota State 1-0 in the first game Sunday in the Summit League baseball championship.
• Starting pitcher Shane Kraemer allowed five hits, no walks and struck out two in 5 1/3 innings to improve to 4-2 with the win. Layne Somsen got the final six outs for his first save of the year.
• South Dakota State also took the opener 2-0.

More heavy rain inundates southeast South Dakota

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Another overnight of thunderstorms brought heavy rain to Sioux Falls and other areas of southeastern South Dakota, inundating an area already dealing with flash flooding.
• National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Gillispie says the Sioux Falls airport received 1.25 inches of rain, but gauges on the city's outskirts reported amounts as high as 2.8 inches.
• The heaviest amounts were reported to the south between Canton and Beresford and east to Sioux Center, Iowa, with totals ranging from 3 inches to more than 6 inches.
