patched out of Brown County and Andover 911 calls are handled by Day County which is dispatched out of Codington County (Watertown).
• "We run into a problem with the radios when we go east," Bahr said. "Last summer during the Taylor Honey fire in Andover we were unable to talk to each other, the radios just didn't carry that far."
• While a dialog is now open between the two entities, much needs to happen before Andover could be annexed into the tax district. Should Groton agree to the annexation, Andover townships would need to gather petitions with signatures of 10 percent of the voters. Approval would be given by both the Day County and Brown County Commissioners and then the issue would go to a vote of the townships.
• In other business, the board asked Bahr to put together a wish list of equipment and mark them in the order of priority.
• Dale Ringgenberg reported that he is still having a problem finding some of the parts needed to fix the Bath Station engine. The parts are obsolete and the only place they may be found is in a junk yard.
• Bahr reported that the Brown County Fire Chiefs are looking to purchase a new software program that would allow fire departments to get rid of their pagers. The software uses cell phones with texting ability to dispatch emergency situations. The start up costs for this program is $19,000. The fire chiefs are asking the county to help foot the costs.
