• On May 10, Lanny Merkel will be receiving a MS degree in Texas. Pam Merkel, Brett Merkel and Haley Spitzer plan to attend.
• LaVonne Helmer accompanied her daughter, Pam Merkel, to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Friday, to visit Pam's son and family, Lanny and Becki Merkel and Justin and Lilley. They attended Justin's confirmation and a dance recital of Lilley's.  They visited Lorraine Anderson in Sioux Falls, both on the way down and on the way back. Lorraine is weak, but is in good spirits. She is now living in the part with the nursing care.

Rip 'N Ravel CFEL
• The May 5 meeting of the Rip 'N Ravel CFEL met at the home of Bev Sombke.
• Pledges were recited in unison and 13 members answered roll call with a plant coming up in your yard.
• Unfinished business included the cookie booth scheduled for the county fair. Rip 'N Ravel will set up on August 15 at 9:30 a.m. and will work until 11 a.m. Take down will be Friday at 8:30 p.m.
• The club tour is scheduled for June 3 at the Bird Feeder in Twin Brooks.
• Pin dangles were presented to the following ladies for CFEL memberships: Ella Johnson, 45 years; Marie Sternhagen, 51 years; Merry Jo Ball, 54 yeas; Bonnie Erdmann, 57 years; Ginny Abeln, 60 years;  and Twila Ruden, 61 years.
• Linda Gengerke gave the lesson on "Flower Frogs" and "What butterflies really want."
