• The trip is part of an ongoing effort to entice people from out of state to move to South Dakota to fill open jobs.
• State Labor and Regulation Secretary Pam Roberts said officials are targeting the Twin Cities because more Minnesotans have shown an interest in moving to South Dakota than workers from any other state.
• "We want to share information about our great job opportunities. There are more than 10,000 to choose from, including many high-demand, high-wage jobs in the information technology, engineering, nursing and financial services fields," Roberts said.
• She added that Daugaard will tell people about the quality of life in South Dakota, the low cost of living and the state's friendly tax climate.
• More than 3,000 Minnesotans have relocated to South Dakota since October 2006, when the state launched a website to connect out-of-state workers with in-state careers.

South Dakota Mr. and Miss Basketball named

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Zach Hanson of Pierre and Kerri Young of Mitchell have been voted by coaches as this year's Mr. and Miss Basketball in South Dakota.
• The 6-foot-9 Hanson averaged 20 points and nearly nine rebounds per game this past season and helped Pierre to a state championship. He plans to play college basketball for Creighton.
• The 6-foot Young helped Mitchell to a state runner-up finish, averaging about 16 points and six rebounds per game. She is the Mitchell program's all-time leading scorer. She plans to play at South Dakota State.

Construction projects underway across South Dakota

• BURKE, S.D. (AP) -- Construction season is kicking in across the state.
• The South Dakota Department of Transportation says a contractor on Monday is beginning a $570,000 rehabilitation of bridges on Highway 44, Highway 47 and Highway 1806 in Gregory County. Traffic will be reduced to one 12-foot lane of traffic.
• Work is also beginning on projects in Eureka.
• A 3-million reconstruction of Highway 10 from the south junction of Highway 47 on the west to the north Highway 47 junction on the east side of Eureka will include grading, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, storm sewers, lighting and asphalt concrete
