warmest average temperature is 54.7 degrees set in 1987.  Lastly, Wheaton saw 9.1 inches of snowfall which ranks seventh all-time.  The current record is 27.3 inches set in 2008.  There have been a few months of April in which no snow was reported.  The last one was in 2012.

• Several sites in the Aberdeen forecast area experienced their coldest April temperatures in recorded history, which have been publicized in a Public Information Statement from the National Weather Service office.  In addition to these remarkable records, several other significant facts and records have also been reached for the month of April.  Records were also set for cold temperatures when combining the months of March and April.  As more and more of these records are discovered, it's apparent that Spring thus far has truly been historic and significant.

Aberdeen:  27.2 degrees was coldest all-time, beating 28.5 in 1951. 
• Watertown:  26.8 degrees was coldest all-time, beating 27.9 in 1899. 
• Sisseton:  25.8 degrees was coldest all-time, beating 30.7 in 1996. 
• Wheaton:  24.1 degrees was coldest all-time, beating 28.2 in 1951. 
• Mobridge:  30.6 degrees was 3rd coldest all-time.  The record is 29.0 degrees in 1951. 
• Pierre:  33.4 degrees was 4th coldest all-time.  The record is 30.6 degrees in 1951.

Aberdeen:  16, beats old record of 13 set in 1950. 
• Pierre:  12, beats old record of 9 set in 1950. 
• Watertown:  16, ties record of 16 also set in 1950. 
• Mobridge:  13, ties record of 13 also set in 1950. 
• Kennebec:  9, beats old record of 7 set in 1997. 
• Wheaton:  21, beats old record of 14 set in 1950. 
• Timber Lake:  11, 2nd all-time.  The record is 15 set in 1950.
