The event started in 2002 as a way for smaller schools to compete in street marching is looking for a new location. The competition usually brings about 15 bands to town along with thousands of spectators. The board was interested in the idea of hosting the event, but wanted more information, including talking with the City of Groton and the Groton Chamber.
• The high school is looking into a new phone system. The current system is over 10 years old and whenever the power goes out, the system goes wacky.
• "Right now we don't have any bells in the high school," Groton Superintendent Laura Schuster said. "We'll be able to keep using the phones we have, it's the infrastructure that needs to be updated."

• Approved the resignations of Sherry Raap, special needs para; Becky Sjerven, Kindergarten para; and Adrienne Fliehs as special needs para. effective at the end of the school year.
• Don Donley was approved as the yearbook advisor.
• Open enrollments for the 2013-2014 school year were approved for a junior from Aberdeen and a kindergartener from Aberdeen.
• The board moved into executive session to discuss negotiations, personnel, staffing issues and student issues.
• After leaving executive session the board approved contract extension deadlines for Laura Schuster, Patricia Schmit, Malerie Yeaton and Eric Hamil.
