and summer activities.  We will also keep practicing our number identification and counting skills.  Upcoming events will include sprouting yams and then transplanting them to take home to put in our gardens, our spring concert, a trip to the park (hopefully it will warm up and the snow will disappear) and our Graduation ceremony. 
•  Our journey throughout the year has been great!  We have become familiar with what is expected of us at school and are getting a firm foundation to start out next year as Kindergarteners.  We are very excited and can't wait for more fun to begin in the fall.

We can't believe the end of the year is fast approaching!  We all reached our classroom AR goal of 10 points.  Many students have reached the school's goal of 15 points.  One student has surpassed that goal and reached our super goal of 70 points!  Our goal for the rest of the year is to challenge ourselves by reading harder books. 
•  In reading class we have learned about adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, synonyms and antonyms, and subjects and predicates.  We are working hard on increasing our reading fluency as well as our comprehension.  The big project are starting to work on is writing a letter to our favorite author.  The students chose their favorite author and did research to find information about that person.  We are in the process of writing a letter to them.  In our letter we are giving some informa
