Heavy snow expected in North Dakota
• BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- All of North Dakota was placed under a winter storm warning Saturday as heavy snow is forecast to develop across the state during the evening and through Sunday.
• The new system moves in on the heels of one that brought freezing rain and heavy snow to South Dakota in the past week, snapping tree branches and downing power lines.
• The National Weather Service said 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected across North Dakota, and the snow could be mixed with freezing rain or sleet in the southeast part of the state. The far northeast corner of South Dakota, including Sisseton, was placed under an ice storm warning.
• Heavy snow will develop Sunday in most areas, with increasing easterly winds causing blowing snow and significantly reduced visibilities, the forecast said.
• In South Dakota, residents of Sioux Falls and surrounding areas continued to recover from the wintry wallop. Xcel Energy said it had restored power to all but 9,000 customers in eastern South Dakota by Saturday morning, and it was expecting to complete service restoration later in the day. Some 90,000 customers have been dealing with outages since the storm hit Tuesday.
• More than 420 worker -- including Xcel crews from South Dakota, Minnesota and North Dakota and help from other utilities and contractors from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Kansas -- were busy repairing lines on Saturday.
• Mary Walton, a 75-year-old Sioux Falls resident who went 72 hours without power, said she couldn't figure out why getting her power restored was taking so long. She considered finding a hotel room, but decided to stay home.
• "I was cold, I was disappointed, frustrated and got really anxious for hot food," she told the Argus Leader. "Then I realized it was a city with a problem."

Xcel: Power restored to all but 9,000 customers
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Xcel Energy says it has restored power to all but 9,000 customers in eastern South Dakota affected by this week's ice and snow storm.
• The company says it expects to complete service restoration on Saturday.
