Swanson holds hearing on Fairview-Sanford proposal

• ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson is holding a public hearing on a proposal that would give a South Dakota-based company control over Fairview Health Services and the University of Minnesota's medical center.
• Sanford Health of Sioux Falls, S.D., has proposed acquiring Fairview Health Services. The hearing is at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Capitol, and representatives from Fairview Health, Sanford and the university are expected to testify.
• Swanson has raised concern that putting one of the state's largest hospital systems in the hands of an outside company is not in the best interests of Minnesotans.
• Last week, the university disclosed that it has also proposed to take over Fairview Health Services.
• Fairview and Sanford Health officials have said their talks are only in the early stages.

FL airman gets screen time in 'Olympus Has Fallen'

• FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A Florida airman briefly gets the spotlight in the new film "Olympus Has Fallen."
• Michael Stallings is a technical sergeant at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida's Panhandle. In the film, he portrays an Army lieutenant assigned to the personal security detail of a two-star general amid a terrorist attack on the White House.
• Stallings tells the Northwest Florida Daily News (http://bit.ly/10I4f1Z ) that his military training caught the eye of director Antoine Fuqua during filming in New Orleans.
• The South Dakota native's improvised lines made it to the film's final cut. "Olympus Has Fallen" stars Morgan Freeman, Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart.
• Stallings began studying acting in 2010 after he arrived at Eglin, where he works in the fuel shop.

Forest Service apologizes for Dakotas fire

• HETTINGER, N.D. (AP) -- A U.S. Forest Service official has apologized for a fire that burned more than 16 square miles of Dakotas grassland.
