SD official warns that new GED test is coming

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota official says people working to pass the General Educational Development test need to be aware that a new version of the test will be released next January.
• State Labor Secretary Pam Roberts says the current version of the test expires Dec. 31. She says all scores will expire for people who have not passed all five required GED tests by then, so people needing to complete one or more of the tests should start the registration process immediately.
• Roberts says the new tests released next year will be more rigorous and will be available on computer only.
• The GED credential is recognized as the equivalent of a high school diploma.

SD Oral History Center moves locations at USD

• VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Oral History Center has a new home on the University of South Dakota campus.
• The center holds thousands of recorded interviews documenting life in the Northern Plains and in South Dakota. The interviews date back to the 1950s.
• The Oral History Center is currently housed in Dakota Hall on the USD campus. It will now move to the I.D. Weeks Library on campus.
• The move comes as a federal grant that paid for workers to transfer interviews to digital recordings ends. Library staff and one staff members will continue to preserve interviews.

SD man found guilty in child sex trafficking case

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota man has been found guilty in a child sex trafficking case.
• U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says a jury convicted 34-year-old Emmanuel Nyuon, of Sioux Falls, on two counts following a four-day trial.
• Johnson says many South Dakotans are shocked to learn that human trafficking and child prostitution exists in the state. A Sioux Falls police investigation in spring 2011 discovered a criminal organization that was selling narcotics and prostitutes.
• Nyuon was charged with sex trafficking of a child by force, fraud or coercion, and
