are flexible and have been willing to do whatever is asked of them and adjust.
• So far March has been filled with activities centered around the letter T including transportation, tools, and trains.  Coming up we will be celebrating the letter U, Easter, and the circus.  With spring right around the corner, hopefully, we are looking forward to spending a little bit of time outside as well.
• Preschool and Kindergarten screening was a success again this year.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to bring their child in and participate.  We had a great group of kids and that made the long days go great!

Science has kept us very busy learning about water and its properties.  We learned the terms solid, liquid and gas.  We especially love the experiment using a hot plate and a tea kettle to show water changing from a liquid into a gas.  Another fun experiment we did was sink and float.  We made predictions on what objects would do when they were placed in water and as all good scientists, we tested our predictions and got wet in the process!  Another interesting science unit is learning about our anatomy.  We are learning the importance of what our organs in our torso or trunk of our bodies do.  We found our heart will really pump after we ran in place.  We learned our lungs like to breathe clean air and we all made a promise to never smoke to keep our lungs healthy and pink.  Our liver is very important to help clot our blood and keep our bodies clean.  By doing experiments using a banana, crackers and water, we learned our stomach is a strong muscle that mashes our food.  Our intestines continue the food mashing process.  This experiment used a nylon with oatmeal to demonstrated digestion.  To learn about our kidneys, we used coffee and a coffee filter to show the cleaning process.. We each made our own anatomy vest and attached each organ as we learned about them.  We proudly word our anatomy vests and discovered how important it is to take care of our bodies.  Our bodies are beautiful!
•  A very big "Thank you" goes to the American Legion Auxiliary for their visit.   Every year they provide American flags for each child in Kindergarten.  We give a special "thank you" to Tami Zimney for teaching both groups of Kindergartners about the American flag.  It was a wonderful sight to see the children sing "Proud to be an American" and wave their new flags.
• Math has kept us very busy in Kindergarten.  We have learned the numbers 1-30.  We also had a chapter on measurement.  We compared sizes, weight and length of many objects.  We loved using a balance scale!  We are now learning about time.  We learn how to tell time to the hour, the four seasons and how to read
