Man given 15 years in stabbing incident

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A Rapid City man convicted of stabbing one homeless man and cutting another when he couldn't get a cigarette has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
• KOTA and KEVN report that Judge Janine Kern sentenced 23-year-old Nico Steele Monday afternoon on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of possessing methamphetamine.
• Authorities say Steele stabbed a man in the leg outside the downtown Rapid City VFW last August when he asked the man for a cigarette and he said no. Another man was cut on his back when he tried to intervene.
• Steele ran away after the incident but was caught by police. Police say Steele also threatened someone else during the attack.
• Prosecutors say Steele has had 10 arrests since turning 18 years old.
